Michael Jackson Comeback Dates To Make 'Showbusiness History'

March 10, 2009
Michael Jackson Comeback Dates To Make 'Showbusiness History'Michael Jackson's dates at London's O2 Arena this July will make “showbusiness history”, the event's promoter has said.

Over a million people are believed to have already registered to buy tickets for Jackson's ten-night residency, which begins on July 8th.

Promoter Randy Phillips told the BBC that demand for the self-proclaimed King of Pop's shows had "exceeded our wildest expectations".

"This is the last chance to see Michael Jackson in London, we are doing everything we can to ensure as many fans as possible can be a part of the experience,” he added.

Fears are being raised that thousands of fans may miss out on seeing Jackson live due to the unexpectedly high demand to see him perform.

A spokeswoman for concert promoter AEG said: "Nothing has been confirmed yet but those people who miss out this time will be the first to hear if there are any announcements."

As previously reported, Jackson unveiled the initial dates for his O2 shows, which he has called his “final curtain call”, earlier today.
