Michael Jackson, Susan Boyle Prove Popular On YouTube In 2009Michael Jackson was one of the most searched names on YouTube over the last twelve months.

The singer was the most popular search term in June – the month of his sudden death – and July as fans logged on to watch videos of the late star.

The most popular music video of the year was 'I Know You Want Me' by Pitbull, which attracted 82 million views.

Miley Cyrus's video for 'The Climb', which has since been covered by The X Factor's Joe McElderry, was also popular.

Meanwhile, videos of Susan Boyle performing on Britain's Got Talent were the biggest hit on YouTube in 2009.

The clips, which included Boyle covering 'I Dreamed A Dream' on the talent show, were watched by more than 120 million users worldwide.

The video-sharing website was key to boosting the 48-year-old Scottish singer's popularity earlier this year.
