Radiohead Mangers Win Innovation Award For 'In Rainbows'

March 7, 2008
Radiohead Mangers Win Innovation Award For 'In Rainbows'Radiohead’s co-managers, Bryce Edge and Chris Hufford, were named innovators of the year at the first MediaGuardian Awards in London last night (March 6th).

The Courtyard Management pair won the award for the ‘pay-what-you-want’ method which the band used to release their latest album, ‘In Rainbows’.

The awards judges said that Courtyard were the “clear winners”. “They managed to revolutionise the way music is sold and marketed almost overnight," they added.

‘In Rainbows’ attracted huge publicity for the band last October when it was released online with just ten days notice.

Fans could pay anything they wanted for the album – from £0.99 to £99.99.

When it was given a general release at the start of the year the record went on to top the album charts in both the United Kingdom and the US.
