Paul McCartney Set To Announce Farewell Tour?

March 1, 2010
Paul McCartney Set To Announce Farewell Tour?Sir Paul McCartney's forthcoming live shows could form part of a farewell tour, according to reports.

The former Beatle is said to have lined up a series of summer gigs – including an outdoor show in Glasgow – which will be announced in the next 48 hours.

The concerts will run up until Sir Paul's 70th birthday in June 2012, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper claims the star will perform at Hampden Park on June 20 – nearly two decades after he last played there.

A source said: “[Sir Paul] loves Scotland and wants to play there again. It will be one of his greatest gigs ever."

Sir Paul has already announced details of five US dates, which are billed on his official website as the Up and Coming tour.

They are due to get under way in Glendale on March 28 and also include two dates at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
