Paul McCartney: 'I Still Think Of John Lennon When Recording'

November 19, 2008
Paul McCartney: 'I Still Think Of John Lennon When Recording'Sir Paul McCartney has admitted that he still considers what John Lennon would think when he is recording new music.

The singer, who released his latest album with his Fireman project this week, said the former Beatle was never far from his thoughts in the studio.

"You reference most things you do, saying, 'Would that work with The Beatles, or would this be a good wing song? Would John like this? What would George play on this?' he told BBC 6Music.

"You do that, you also go, 'How would Elvis have sung it?' You do all those little thoughts because it's cheap."

The Fireman's new album 'Electronic Arguments' features thirteen tracks written by Sir Paul and is the first Fireman album to feature vocals.

Each track, produced by Youth, was recorded in thirteen days over the period of nearly a year.

Reports have claimed that one of the songs on the album is inspired by Sir Paul's former marriage to Heather Mills.
