The singer, who quit the boy band in 1996, has recorded a new album with the group and is expected to tour in the new year.

Williams said: "I get embarrassingly excited when the five of us are in a room. It feels like coming home."

In a joint statement released the media, the band said they intended to release the as-yet-untitled new album in November.

Singer Mark Owen said it has been an “absolute delight” working with Williams again, but added: “I'm still a better footballer."

Take That are also due to embark on a reunion tour, although dates have yet been confirmed.
