Bloc Party are an English indie rock band, composed of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Russell Lissack (lead guitar), Gordon Moakes (bass guitar, synths, backing vocals, glockenspiel), and Matt Tong (drums, backing vocals). Their brand of music is said to have been drawn from such bands as Mogwai, The Cure, Joy Division, Sonic Youth, and in their more recent work, Radiohead.

Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke is set to play a one-off gig in London next February. The singer, who goes under the name Kele, will headline a Bugged Out Presents night at the Coronet on February 12. Read more

Ash guitarist Russell Lissack was bitten by a lion during the band's recent visit to South Africa. Lissack, who is also a member of Bloc Party, was bitten when he went to an animal sanctuary with singer Tim Wheeler. Read more
