Beyonce Donated Colonel Gaddafi Gig Money To Charity

March 3, 2011
Beyonce Donated Colonel Gaddafi Gig Money To CharityBeyonce gave money she received to play a private gig for members of Colonel Gaddafi's family to charity, a spokesperson has said.

The singer performed a $1million gig alongside Usher for the Libyan leader's family at St Barts in 2009.

On Monday (February 28), Beyonce and other music stars who performed privately for the clan were urged to return their fee amid ongoing problems in the country.

But a spokesperson for the singer has revealed that she donated her fee to earthquake relief efforts in Haiti over a year ago.

“Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the Gaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause,” the spokesperson told the Huffington Post.

On Tuesday (March 1), Nelly Furtado promised to give the money she received to perform a private concert for the family of Colonel Gaddafi to charity.
