The xx Made Bookies Favourite To Win Mercury Prize 2010

The xx Made Bookies Favourite To Win Mercury Prize 2010The xx are 5/2 favourites with bookmakers to win this year's Mercury Prize.

The band's self-titled debut album is one of twelve shortlisted for the prestigious album award.

Dizzee Rascal and Wild Beasts are joint second favourites at 5/1, while Paul Weller and Mumford & Sons are at 6/1.

Bookermaker William Hill has Corinne Bailey Rae and Laura Marling at 7/1, Foals and Biffy Clyro at 9/1, and I Am Kloot at 11/1.

Kit Downes Trio and Villagers are this year's outsiders – both at 12/1.

The nominees were announced at a ceremony in London this morning (July 21). The winner is due to be unveiled on September 7.
