Belle & Sebastian have announced details of a UK tour, which is due to get under way in Gateshead on December 5.

The band, who headlined last weekend's Latitude festival, which also play dates in Birmingham (December 6), Leicester (14) and Bristol (16).

The tour is set to conclude at Barrowlands in Glasgow on December 21.

Belle & Sebastian are currently recording their as-yet-untitled new album.

Tickets go on sale on Friday (July 23) at 9am.

• Bournemouth, Academy - 9
• Leicester, De Montfort Hall - 14
