Manic Street Preachers: 'We're The Indie Rolling Stones'

June 3, 2010
Manic Street Preachers: 'We're The Indie Rolling Stones'Manic Street Preachers bassist Nicky Wire has compared the band to the Rolling Stones.

Wire said the group, who release their new album in September, now had so many songs that they struggled to pick a set-list.

“Touring is getting slightly problematic due to the set-list”, Wire told XFM.

“We literally have so many songs, we’re like the indie Rolling Stones. The set-list gets longer, the choice of songs get harder.”

Wire added that it was becoming harder to cater for the different factions of their fanbase who want to hear different songs.

As previously reported, Manic Street Preachers’ new album is entitled ‘Postcards From A Young Man’.

The Welsh group will embark on a 23-date UK tour in Glasgow on September 29.

Tickets go on sale on Friday (June 4) at 9am.
