Hole is an American alternative rock band that originally formed in Los Angeles. The band is fronted by vocalist/songwriter and rhythm guitarist Courtney Love, who co-founded Hole with former songwriter/lead guitarist Eric Erlandson. Hole achieved considerable commercial and critical success throughout the 1990s.

Courtney Love's former Hole bandmate Melissa Auf Der Maur says she is both “surprised” and “disappointed” with Love's decision to tour without her. The Canadian bassist was a member of Hole from 1994 to 1999 and admitted she was shocked to hear that Love had decided to hit the road with Hole this year without any former members of the group - including co-founder Eric Erlandson. Hole and Babyshambles have both been added to the NME Awards shows in London next month. Courtney Love's band, who release their first album in 12 years - 'Nobody's Daughter' - early in 2010, play the Shepherds Bush Empire on February 17. Read more
