The Smashing Pumpkins is an American band that formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988. Formed by Billy Corgan (vocals, guitar) and James Iha (guitar, backing vocals), the band has included D'arcy Wretzky (bass guitar, backing vocals), Jimmy Chamberlin (drums, percussion), and Melissa Auf der Maur (bass guitar) amongst its membership.

The Smashing Pumpkins have announced that they will be releasing remastered versions of their back catalog. The band will release their first two albums 'Gish', 'Siamese Dream' along with compilation set, 'Pisces Iscariot' later this year, reports Rolling Stone. Read more

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has paid tribute to one-time member Mark Tulin, who has died. Tulin, a volunteer for marine medical association USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber, died during an underwater clean-up operation on Saturday (February 25), the organisation said. Read more

Smashing Pumkins' Billy Corgan has revealed that the band's bass player is one of the girls on the cover of their ‘Siamese Dream’ album. Nicole Fiorentino, who joined the band last year, was around thirteen when she appeared on the band's 1991 album cover. Read more

Former Smashing Pumpkins bassist D'arcy Wretzky has been arrested. Wretzky, who was in Smashing Pumpkins from 1988-1999, was due to appear in court over charges made against her in 2009 when she let her horses free from her farm and run wild through a town. Read more

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has launched an attack against major record labels, claiming that they have taken the excitement out of music. The singer said he believed labels needed to take more risks and suggested that they had failed to keep up with record buyers. Read more
