AC/DC Endure Hell On A Highway In Romania

June 2, 2010
AC/DC Endure Hell On A Highway In RomaniaAC/DC were fined for allegedly forgetting to pay a highway toll as they travelled along a remote road in Romania.

The band, whose hits include ‘Highway To Hell’, were punished by employees of the national roads company.

The company’s manager Doina Tiron said that the group’s drivers overlooked the toll, and were stopped at the border with Hungary.

However, the band’s touring party argued that they had not been given a receipt for the toll.

"The band's caravan was stopped at the border with Hungary by employees of the national roads company who asked them to pay 50 euros for each vehicle, or a total of 2,500 euros, before they were allowed to leave the country," Tiron told AFP.

AC/DC’s European tour will make a brief visit in the UK next week as the band headline the Download festival in Donnington.
