Coldplay Confirmed To Play Glastonbury Festival 2011

February 15, 2011
Coldplay Confirmed To Play Glastonbury Festival 2011Coldplay have been confirmed as one of the headline acts at this year's Glastonbury festival.

The band, who were heavily rumoured to be performing, will play the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday night of the event, which runs from June 24-26.

Organiser Michael Eavis said he was pleased to see Coldplay return – the band also headlined the event in 2002 and 2005.

"As their popularity grew around the world I was so proud of them,” he said. "This is the triumphant return of a band that everyone here feels part of.

“They're one of the greatest phenomena to grow from these fields."

Last week, Beyonce confirmed that she would close the festival. U2 are also rumoured to be headlining the opening night.

Tickets for the festival have already sold out.
