Coldplay will headline this year’s Glastonbury festival in Somerset, it’s been announced. The band, who have been strongly rumoured to appear, will top the bill on the Saturday of the event, which runs from June 22-24. 
Florence & The Machine will perform at the Oscars later this month. The singer - real name Florence Welch - will accompany Original Song nominee A.R. Rahman on a rendition of ‘If I Rise’ from the film 127 Hours. 
Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner will release a solo album next month, it’s been confirmed. The album consists of music taken from the forthcoming British film Submarine, directed by Richard Ayoade.
