Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has confirmed that the group will release new material this year.

The announcement follows the sudden departure of band members and brothers Josh and Zac Farro last month.

In an interview with MTV News, Williams said the band were writing new songs and would “definitely” release them this year.

"Who knows if a full album will come out of it?” she said. "But obviously we'd love that, it would be fun.

“Let's just start this new chapter already, because it can only be great."

As previously reported, Paramore will be joined by temporary members Justin York and Josh Freese during their scheduled South American tour next month.
