Cheryl Cole Beats Michael Jackson To Number One

November 2, 2009
Cheryl Cole Beats Michael Jackson To Number OnePop star and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has scored simultaneous UK Number Ones with both her single and album hitting the top spot.

'Fight For This Love' stayed on at number one for a second week whilst the album '3 Words' debuted in the top spot.

According to the Official Charts Company this makes Cheryl the third female star to achieve dual success in 2009 following Lily Allen and Lady GaGa. Just twelve women have achieved the feat in the past including Madonna and Celine Dion.

Elsewhere in the charts there were new album entries for Michael Jackson's 'This Is It', Katherine Jenkins and Daniel O'Donnel whilst in the singles chart Westlife achieved the highest new entry at number two with Jay Sean's 'Down' came in at number three.
