. . .

I fled a pale grey town,
Well I was catapulted over the wall,
I came a great way down,
And though it wasn't clear at the time,
I had further to fall,
I used to dream at night,
That I could be the belle of the ball,
I gained a stone cold fright,
Well it was pleasing me, deep down,
Everybody you meet wants to knock your, teeth out,
'Cause your an enemy of reason and serenity now.

I tried to shake my curse,
But I never found the method I needed,
I only make things worse,
Down every avenue that I stroll,
My reputation proceeded,
You know it breaks my spine,
When I think of every inch I conceded,
But if you take that line,
It's worth considering, deep down,
Everybody you meet wants to knock your, teeth out,
'Cause your an enemy of reason and serenity now.

You know it breaks my spine,
When I think of every inch I conceded,
But if you take that line,
It's worth considering, deep down,
Everybody you meet wants to knock your, teeth out,
'Cause your an ally of corruption and obscenity,
Your an enemy of reason and serenity now.

. . .

Autumn wearing his badge of decay,
Smothers summer and sends her away,
Emerald leave turn to gold on the trees,
And the light starts to shrink from the day,
Cold winds blowing across this old land,
Whispered voices I can't understand,
The fiction is blurring,
The yeller man is stirring,
I hope a change is at hand.

Time must revolve but before we dissolve,
Will you evolve a little with me?
Now your involved or this court can resolve,
If you evolve a little with me.

Portraits fading to pulp on the wall,
Shadows charting the rise and the fall,
The jugglers and clowns well their all leaving town,
Winding down to the ring masters pawl.

Time must revolve but before we dissolve,
Will you evolve a little with me?
Now your involved or this court can resolve,
If you evolve a little with me.

. . .

I see you in the darkness
Across the cotton plain
Peace permeates throughout you
Your slender, fragile frame
I know I shouldn't be here
But just can't keep away
You'll be mine in the morning
And that's how you shall stay.

The seconds and the moments
I steal away with you
Must be some indication
Must be some kind of clue
Of hope in my existence
Of worth in all that's lost
You'll be mine in the morning,
No matter what the cost.

And this is it for me
If it all comes crashing down
There's no security or road out of this town
A blackened name
A broken frame
I'm far too delicate for this
The first and final kiss.

. . .

I think I pulled it off, I think I killed my brain,
It checked-out in my sleep, I didn't suffer pain,
Through years of slow decline and lack of proper care,
I'm happy to report, my minds no longer there,
Can't pretend that I will miss it that much,
But it was handy for the crosswords and such,
All in all I'm a happy lobotomy.

I used to contemplate, until it hurt my head,
I'd fix a milky drink and put myself to bed,
Now I can lie and stare at things for hours on end,
Not caring who or what, or why or where or, when,
Can't pretend that I will miss it that much,
But it was handy for the crosswords and such,
All in all I'm a happy lobotomy.

It's fair to say, I rubbed it out,
Forsaken or I get about,
But when a push becomes a shove,
I'd sign again for all we've got.

So if you see me sitting, with my expression frozen,
Don't waste your precious pity, this is the path I've chosen,
Two years of wilful neglect, my old grey matter is wrecked,
Quorn from Quebec, there's nothing north of my neck,
Can't pretend that I will miss it that much,
But it was handy for the crosswords and such,
All in all I'm a happy lobotomy.
