Johnny Borrell: 'New Razorlight Album Inspired By Success Of Predecessors'

October 3, 2008
Johnny Borrell: 'New Razorlight Album Inspired By Success Of Predecessors'Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell has said that the band's new album was mostly inspired by its two predecessors.

'Slipway Fires', which is released later this month, is the follow-up to 2004's 'Up All Night' and 2006's 'Razorlight'.

Speaking about their approach to the album, Borrell told BBC 6Music: “People say it every album - difficult first album, difficult second, ah, tricky third, ah, fourth but for me, writing wise, it was like exploring the shadows cast by the success of the first and second one.

“I can’t really elaborate but if that makes any sense that was what it was like for me.”

Razorlight previewed a number of new songs off the record, which Borrell described as their best yet, during a show in London last night (October 2nd).
