Primal Scream are a Scottish alternative rock group formed in 1982 in Glasgow by Bobby Gillespie (vocals) and Jim Beattie. The current lineup consists of Gillespie, Andrew Innes (guitar), Martin Duffy (keyboards), Gary "Mani" Mounfield (bass), and Darrin Mooney (drums). Barrie Cadogan toured with the band in 2006 as a temporary replacement after the departure of guitarist Robert "Throb" Young. Young's permanent replacement has not yet been announced. They have sold 10 million albums to date.

Primal Scream will headline the Guernsey Festival with a performance of their 1991 album 'Screamadelica'. Rapper Chipmunk has also been added to the bill for the event, which will take place from July 2-3. Read more

Primal Scream, Beady Eye and Paul Weller are among the acts set to play a one-off London gig in aid of the recent tsunami and earthquakes in Japan. The gig, which will take place at London's 02 Academy Brixton on April 3, will also feature Graham Coxon, The Coral and Richard Ashcroft. Read more

Primal Scream will headline this year's Camp Bestival festival, it has been announced. The event, which takes place in Dorset at Lulworth Castle on July 29–31, will see the band perform their definitive 90s album 'Screamadelica' on the Sunday night. Read more

Primal Scream, Mumford & Sons and The Chemical Brothers have been added to the line up for this year's Glastonbury festival. The event, which takes place from June 24-26, will see Primal Scream headline the The Other Stage on the Friday night of the event with Mumford & Sons second on the bill, reports The Guardian.
