Portishead (pronounced /pɔrtɪsˈhɛd/, with the stress on head) are an English musical group from Bristol. The band is named after the nearby town of the same name, 13 km (8 mi) west of Bristol. Portishead consists of Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons, and Adrian Utley, while sometimes citing a fourth member Dave McDonald; an engineer on Dummy.

Arcade Fire and Portishead will play at this year's Exit Festival in Serbia. The bands will join other confirmed acts Hadouken!, Tiga and James Zabiela at the festival, which takes place on July 7-10. Read more

Bristol has been crowned the “most musical city” in the UK following a survey by the Performing Rights Society (PRS for Music). The city, which has spawned acts including Portishead, Massive Attack, F*ck Buttons and Tricky, came out ahead of cities such as Cardiff, Glasgow and Manchester. Read more
