I can survive the rat race honey
Time is money and money is honey, honey
My megabucks your symmetrical beauty
Together we can serve the nation - yeah!

The quality of life filled us all with pride
America
And as I watched I just cried and cried
How I love America

I will buy you rich perfumes
And we will eat the finest foods
A mansion in New England
A silver dollar for every child
Where everybody has got their price
They'll sustain our way of life
You and I will fly to Rio
I'll make you feel like a millionaire

I can survive the rat race honey
Time is money and money is honey, honey
My megabucks your symmetrical beauty
Together we can serve the nation - yeah!

The quality of life filled us all with pride
America
And as I watched I just cried and cried
How I love America

West is best and might is right
And with our allies - fight the good fight
A first class, five star enterprise
Now everybody's got to compromise
My moral code's on overload
Liberty still takes its toll
Take a look at the losers wasting in the bars
Where they cut their losses!

I can survive the rat race honey
Time is money, and money is honey, honey
My megabucks your symmetrical beauty
Together we can serve the nation - yeah!

The quality of life filled us all with pride
America
And as I watched I just cried and cried
How I love America

There were fireworks in the Gulf
There was champagne at home - How I love America
But showbiz and Hollywood still shouted out - America

The sun is setting in on England's green and pleasant land
AT dusk I leave the town to tear the fences down
And I ignore the voice of education sighing and crying in my head

In the light of every dream, we're all coming home
Lazy days and summer haze, my love of this land

Memories of gentlemen and cricket fade away in the hot summer
But still they carry out traditions of the past without a meaning

In the light of every dream, we're all coming home
Lazy days and summer haze, my love of this land

New towns and concrete towerblocks, inhuman as they stand
And did those feel in ancient times, or was it just our imaginations?

In the light of every dream, we're all coming home
Lazy days and summer haze, my love of this land

Province, state and country
The great divide has come
Ten percent shall prosper
To them the kingdom come

I can see trends behind trends
I can see

Jack has bought a business
Pete inherits home
Jill has got a trust fund
They've all been buying fun

I can see trends behind trends
I can see
Stay one jump ahead

Jack's alright he's a predator
He'll give you three good reasons that'll change your mind

1) You can't afford the B.U.P.A. health scheme
So when you get sick you're going to die

2) You can't afford to buy your own property
So when the rent goes up then you're on the street

3) You can't afford the bills and pills you need
You've got to get them cause they're going to get you

Anger is your friend now, resentment is the key
Patience as a virtue so be accessary
Or you can always be a victim
A victim of the circumstance if you like?
Stay one jump ahead

The Whitehouse played the game their own way
Their foreign policies gave me the shits
I didn't understand until I read
St. John's acoount of Apocalypse

American heroes Colonel Oliver North
Everybody says he was just doing his job
Arms for the hostages, it's plain to see
Why the very next day they bombed Tripoli

Terrorists were everywhere
Blowing Greenpeace ships right in the air
Wall Street crashed and the hurricane
Tore the trees from their roots, derailed the trains

London twon ground to a halt
And everybody said it wasn't our fault

Waether goes crazy
Nature goes crazy
Man goes crazy
Nature goes crazy
Stay one jump ahead

Incredible induction of such awesome energy
The sound satisfaction signify Geordie celebrity
Taking the guitar playing like he's a killer
He doesn't really matter cos you know he's gonna bill up
All the sound resounding into your brain
You know so you can never run away he;s pumping like a train

Chiffity Chaff

I'm goind down the track
I can do as I feel cos he never takes the slack
The rhythm that's riding is taking you much further
The posse in the house yo they say I'm Kruger
Murder that they give you will tak you on down
Because he is the boss of the guitar sound

Anger is your friend now, resentment is the key
Patience as a virtue so be accessary
Or you can always be a victim
A victim of the circumstance if you like?
Stay one jump ahead

In bleak and empty places we can watch from a greater distance
- the credulous delighting in every nation

Don't lose your sense of humour, entertain the wildest thoughts
We can walk for miles and miles without seeing anybody
Some country rare and blessed away from this confusion
No message for the masses only you and me

The long winter is coming and instinct is telling me to fly towards the south

I want to be in a place of beginnings, not endings!

Forget all your belongings - leave the city, come unto the ends of the earth with me

All our friends and relatives fell for neatly packaged policies
And we shuddered at the headline, newsflash of the tensions in the Middle East
You know as well as I do detente can't last forever
Or overpopulation
Me? I'd rather watch

Peace of mind is my priority

The long winter is coming and instinct is telling me to fly towards the south

I want to be in a place of beginnings, not endings!

Forget all your belongings - leave the city, come unto the ends of the earth with me

I here
I hear the calling
Carry across the landscape

I hear it echo from every city to every village upon the earth
From every rooftop to every mountain
Calling the faithful to find themselves
A fire burning like precious water, the fire that drives me on and on

Through hell I shall reach heaven
I shall not resist the changes before me
View the madness with perspective
(the clock is ticking but time means nothing)
So I ascend to the blinding light
Then plummet to the thickest darkness
(and I always tell myself how splendid is the adventure!)
I can no longer see good or evil
But worship polarity

So do not trust the beggars that expose their poverty of spirit
Bleating "I will follow"

I heed
I heed the calling
Follow yourselves as leaders

Arise, arise, stand upright and take pride in who and what you are
Great changes are coming and you will be asked to identify yourself
So run like a lion with inexhaustible strength from world to world
Let your work shine unto the ends of time yeah unto the ends of time.

London, New York, Paris, Tokyo
All is one with the multi-nationals
Total monopolies I can sink or swim
Adrenalin is rushing through every action

Whole nations crave for release from the suspense
And I explode in you, my beautiful obsession

I've been dreaming all your nightmares
Holocausts, invented fantasies
We build the tower, tower falls down
All my dreams come true

Sweet Jesus & Mohammed
Disputes between the boys

Whole nations crave for release from this suspense
And I explode in you, my beautiful obsession

I was a tourist in the Andes
On my way to Tiahuanaco
Where the balance of a weeping god
Faced east to the rising sun

But I looked out the window
And all I could see
Was the face of a girl
She was looking at me

She was begging for food
Then I knew I had found
The weeping god
In the face of a child

As she gestures with her fingers
Her little brother followed suit
And all I did was take my camera
So the image never fades away

I no longer saw the great gate of the sun
Nor the dawn of time when our race had begun
Just black eyes like starving dogs looking at me
A weeping god was all I'd ever see

And as I sat in contemplation beyond all charity
Losing the magic and meaning of living
(the earth and the stars these things are mine)
And when they've drained the earth of all resources
We'll face the music still
For you and I shall be striking memories
In the thoughts of our children's children

I had arrived at my destination
At the gate of the rising sun
We shall again regain in sunset that balance
That we left undone

I stared at the shacks and the shanty town mess
I couldn't help but to think of the West
The balance was lost and my reason went wild
As the weeping god came alive in the child

I began to weep
And I remember the violation
Determination came,
Determination, Yeah!

. . .

In the morning as I come around, rub my eyes and look outside
Watching, absorbing the underworld - reflections of a monstrous soul within
Power stations and power games - this sickness called society
I have identified the forces behind these changes that I see

I put on my mask
I walk down the path
I go through the arch
Outside the gate

I have walked blkac lava fields of the northern hemisphere
I have travelled the Andes range, across Pacific isles
There is no escape in the waking world from that which is approaching us fast
Salvation is drawn from our childhoos dreams
In lands of beauty untainted by cynicism

I put on my mask
I walk down the path
I go through the arch
Outside the gate

He invokes entities vast and mindless!

We shall taste unimaginable joys a thousand times greater than these!
And when the stars assume their rightful place, man liberates a mindless race
Morals and laws shall be thrown aside - tap the millenial flame with pride
Gaze with wonder, embrace your fate

- A madman looks outside the gate!

I put on my mask
I walk down the path
I go through the arch
I close the gate
