You and the night and the music
Fill me flaming desire
Setting my being completely on fire
You and the night and the music
Thrill me but will we be one
After the night and the music are done

Until the pale light of dawn and in daylight
Hearts will be throbbing guitars
Morning will come without warning and take away the stars
If we must live for the moment
Love 'til the moment is through
After the night and the music die
Will I have you?

Until the pale light of dawn and in daylight
Hearts will be throbbing guitars
Morning will come without warning and take away the stars
If we must live for the moment
Love 'til the moment is through
After the night and the music die
Will I have you?

I'm a glum one
It's explainable
I've met someone unattainable
Life's a bore
The world is my oyster no more

All the papers
Where I lead the news
With my capers
Now spread the news
Superman turned out to be
A flash-in-the-pan

I've flown around the world
In a plane
I've settle revolutions in Spain
The North Pole I have charted
But I can't get started with you

Around the golf course I'm under par
And all the movies want me to star
I've built a house and show place
But I can't get no place with you

You're so supreme
Lyrics that I write of you
Scheme, just for a sight of you
And I dream
Both day and night of you
And what good does it do
In 1929, I sold short
In London, I'm presented at court
But you've got me down hearted,
Cause I can't get started with you

You're so supreme
Lyrics that I write of you
Scheme, just for a sight of you
And I dream
Both day and night of you
And what good does it do
In 1929, I sold short
In London, I'm presented at court
But you've got me down hearted,
Cause I can't get started with you, with you

No cares for me
I'm happy as I can be
I've learned to love and to live
Devil may care

No cares and woes
Whatever comes later goes
That's how I'll take and I'll give
Devil may care

When the day is through, I suffer no regrets
I know that he who frets, loses the night
For only a fool, thinks he can hold back the dawn
He who is wise never tries to revise what's past and gone

Live love today, let come tomorrow what may
Don't even stop for a sigh, it doesn't help if you cry
That's how I'll live and I'll die
Devil may care

When the day is through, I suffer no regrets
I know that he who frets, loses the night
For only a fool, thinks he can hold back the dawn
He who is wise never tries to revise what's past and gone

Live love today, let come tomorrow what may
Don't even stop for a sigh, it doesn't help if you cry
That's how I'll live and I'll die
Devil may care

You're nobody till somebody loves you
You're nobody till somebody cares

You may be king
You may posses the world and its gold
But gold wont bring you happiness when you're growing old

The world is the same
You'll never change it
As sure as the sun shines above you

You're nobody till somebody loves you
So find yourself somebody to love

You're nobody till somebody loves you
You're nobody till somebody cares

You may be king
You may posses the world and its gold
But gold wont bring you happiness when you're growing old

The world is the same
You'll never change
As sure as the sun shines above you

You're nobody till somebody loves you
So find yourself somebody
You don't need just anybody

Ain't thinking 'bout love today
Lost in the sunlight
Walking down memory lane

Ain't think 'bout you today
People from the past that I knew
Are slowly slipping away
Seems so long ago
Since we were carefree

Photographs lost in time are all I see
A pointless nostalgic-
That's me
That's me

Thoughts running round me head today
Times from the past pooping up where they're from I don't know
Reminiscing my cares away
Wishing I could go back and change the points that were low
Till I've realised what life's meant to be

Photographs lost in time are all I see
A pointless nostalgic;
That's me
That's me

It's all I'll ever be
Coz that's me

. . .

In the wee small hours of the morning
While the whole wide world is fast asleep
You lie awake thinking of the girl
Never even think of counting sheep

While the whole wide world has learned it's lesson
She'd be yours if only she would call
In the wee small hours of the morning
Is the time I miss her most of all

(instrumental)

In the wee small hours of the morning
While the whole wide world is fast asleep
You lie awake thinking of the girl
Never even think of counting sheep

While the whole wide world has learned it's lesson
She'd be yours if only she would call
In the wee small hours of the morning

You're talkin' so sweet well you needn't
You say you won't cheat well you needn't
You're tappin' your feet well you needn't
It's over now, it's over now

You're dressin' with class well you needn't
You're holdin' your sass well you needn't
You think you're a gas well you needn't
It's over now, it's over now

It's over now, it's over now
You've had your fun, so take a bow
You oughta know, you lost the glow, the beat is slow, the shadows grow,
The lights are low, it's time to go, let's close the show down

(Oh) You're taking off weight well you needn't
You're looking just great well you needn't
You're settin' the bait well you needn't
It's over now, it's over now

(repeat all then...)

It's over now, it's over now
It's over now, it's over now

. . .

It ain't necessarily so
It ain't necessarily so
The things that you're liable
To read in the Bible,
It ain't necessarily so.

Now David was small but oh my
Little David was small but oh my
He thought big goliath
Lie down and dieth
David was small but oh my.

To get into heaven, don't snap for a seven
Live clean forget you're faults
I take the gospel whenever I'm able
But with a grain of salt

Jonah he lived in a whale
Jonah he lived in a whale
He made his home in, a fishes abdomen

To get into heaven, don't snap for a seven
Live clean forget you're faults
I take gospel whenever I'm able
But with a grain of salt

Methuzla lived 900 years
Methuzla lived 900 years
Who called it livin', no god had given
No man lives 900 years

It ain't necessarily so
It ain't necessarily so
The things that you're liable
To read in the Bible,
It ain't necessarily so.

Ain't necessarily so
Ain't necessarily so

Two jumps in a week, I bet you think that's pretty clever don't you, boy?
Flying on your motorcycle, watching all the ground beneath you drop.
You'd kill yourself for recognition; kill yourself to never ever stop.
You broke another mirror; you're turning into something you are not.

Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry
Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry

Drying up in conversation, you will be the one who cannot talk.
All your insides fall to pieces, you just sit there wishing you could still make
love
They're the ones who'll hate you when you think you've got the world all sussed
out
They're the ones who'll spit at you. You will be the one screaming out.

Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry
Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry

It's the best thing that you have ever had, it's the best thing that you have
ever had.

Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry
Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry

Be wise, be smart, behave, my heart
Don't upset your cart when she's so close
Be soft, be sweet, but be discreet
Don't go off your feet, she's so close for comfort

Too close, too close for comfort, please, not again
Too close, too close to know just when to say "when"

Be firm, be fair, be sure, beware
On your guard, take care, while there's such temptation

One thing leads to another
Too late to run for cover
She's much too close for comfort now

Too close, too close for comfort, please, not again
Too close, too close to know just when to say "when"

Be firm and be fair, be sure, beware
On your guard, take care, while there's such temptation

One thing leads to another
Too late to run for cover
She's much too close for comfort now

Too close, much too close

A time for summer skies,
For hummingbirds and butterflies.
For tender words that harmonize with love.

A time for climbing hills,
For leaning out of window sills
Admiring the daffodils above.

A time for holding hands together,
A time for rainbow colored weather,
A time of make-believe that we've been dreaming of.

As time goes drifting by,
The willow bends, so do I.
But oh, my friends, whatever sky above
I've known a time for spring, a time for fall,
But best of all, a time for love

[instrumental]

A time for holding hands together,
A time for rainbow colored weather,
A time of make-believe that we've been dreaming of.

As time goes drifting by,
The willow bends, so do I.
But oh, my friends, whatever sky above
I've known a time for spring, a time for fall,

Long as you're lookin' good...

You can win the admiration,
Of the current population,
You can be star,
Long as you're lookin' good!

You have made the main connection,
You can win the next election,
Don't care who you are,
Just leave them mesmerised, give their eyes a picture to play with,
And you will be so surprised at how much you can get away with!
Long as you're lookin' good!

Let that be your main credential,
You'll get treatment preferential,
It's a rule that's still essentially iron-clad,
Remember you can' look bad,
Long as you're lookin' good!

(instrumental)

You can tell the world to shove it,
Show 'em crap and make 'em love it!
Uh!
You can run their life,
Long as you're lookin' good!

They'll believe you walk on water,
Even trust you with their daughter,
Sometimes with their wife,
Don't have to know a thing, just look like you're a sensation,
Don't have to dance or sing to get that standing ovation!
Long as you're lookin' good!

You can show up late for dinner,
Play the saint or play the sinner,
A blag, a crank, a rank beginner,
Or just a cad!
Remember you can't look bad,
Long as you're looking good!
Long as you're soundin' good!

. . .

Why is it all these fakers
Seem to make the morning papers?
They're selling records by the million, seems so easy in my opinion
Look at the Jazz Star, he really needs some guts
Playing from seven to midnight, surviving on peanuts
Selling records by the dozen
Probably sold his tenor to make 'em
With artwork designed by his brother
And liner notes by his mother

Told what to do, miming to a tape
While a team of experts make sure you're looking great
Taking a limo to your own private bar
My God! I want to be a popstar!

Going to get on the T.V and go on dates with only the pretty
Maybe next year I'll pretend to be gay
I'll sell more records in a flash that way
Makes no difference if i look like a nut
Every kid in the world is going to copy my haircut
I'll advertise some trainers, maybe even a car
Shrewd product placement will guarantee I'm a star
An ugly guy will write my songs
Surely there is nothing wrong
Retiring when I'm 22
With a house a car and nothing to do

Instantaneous satisfaction it will be
Got no need for artistic credibility
With this attitude I'm bound to go far
My God! I want to be a popstar!

Where's the middle ground?
It's hard to make a living with you own true sound
What road am I going to tread?
What the hell would i do instead?

There may be no tours in Roma, or drug-induced designer coma
No teenage girls when show is over, I prefer my women older
Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about
Sometimes it would be nice to play a place and sell out
Driving to a gig in my brand new sports car
My God! I want to be a popstar!

Maybe its too easy, to move so quickly so far
Who wants to be a popstar?
