Come and speak to me, my friend. Forget the words that you think you were saying. Cause your thoughts seem to be thinking otherwise. Cause your feelings seem to be feeling otherwise. Otherwise. Otherwise

Take your broken pieces and use them for protection. Use them for protection. Use them for protection.
Take your strong pieces and use them for living on the outside of your skin. Living on the outside...

You've got to suck it up, even though they spit you out.
Take it in, Take it in.
Living on the outside of your skin. (x8)

I like my happy hippo-pot-a-mus,
she's sleeping under my, matt-er-us.
She shows me Jesus at the bottom of a colt 45!
Oh me oh my, hey my my.

Uh oh oh oh, Uh oh oh oh, Uh oh oh oh
Hey, my my

I like my happy hippo-pot-a-mus,
She leads the way leads the way leads the way leads the,
I'm always wonderin' why shes wonderin' why I'm wonderin' why, I don't know why,
Hey, my my.

Uh oh oh oh, Uh oh oh oh, Uh oh oh oh
Hey, my my

Hey hey, my my
Best learn to live while you're a alive
All you've got is what it gave you
And it can take it way
My my, hey hey
Hey hey, my my
You'd best learn to live while you're alive
It's better to burn out than to fade away
My my, hey hey

. . .

Will we wake up in the body of a buffalo, running through the fields with our old friends? Or will we sleep with our favorite ghosts?
I'm just wondering what comes at the end.
I hope I meet you again.

You'll be a hummingbird. And I'll be a bumblebee. And we will fall in love in our new skin. We will talk all night about our philosophies. As we lay wondering what comes at the end… I hope I meet you again.

. . .

You got your bones to make a beat
You better make a mighty good beat
You got your skin to sing a song
You better sing a super swell song

I got my skin to sing a song
I gotta sing a super swell song
I got my bones to make a beat
I better make a mighty good beat

Let's pick up the beat!

I washed your car last week
you gave me a kiss on the cheek.
I asked if you'd be my sweet
You said, "Baby not me"

I mowed your lawn yesterday
You gave me six bucks and I say
let's have some lemonade
You said, "Go away"

I built your cupboards out of my bones
Shoveled your snow with an ice cream cone
Asked if you'd be my own
You said, "Leave me alone"

I raked your leaves with my toes
Tilled your garden with my nose
Asked if you would be my beau
You said, "No no no"

I built your cupboards out of my bones
Shoveled your snow with an ice cream cone
Asked if you'd be my own
You said, "Leave me alone"

I raked your leaves with my toes
Tilled your garden with my nose
Asked if you would be my beau
You said, "No no no"

I heard grandpa on my transistor radio,
Though he turned in his bones twenty years ago,
And he said, "Kid, theres something that I'd like to show you,
Get your things, its time for us to go"
So I grabbed my backpack, my flashlight, and a bag of caramel corn,
I got my bicycle, and the radio, and I had it on the road, I said
"I'm ready for what I'm about to see, Yup"

I headed north to rain that turned to snow
Through rusty towns and dusty gravel roads
And I said, "Grandpa, where is this thing you wanted to show me?"
He said, "Kid, you got a long way to go"
So I went through canyons, caves and catacombs, I sailed on bicycle boats
I slept in chapels and brothels, I met the nicest folks
I said, "I'm ready for what I'm about to see, Yup"

I heard grandpa on my transistor radio
He said, "Kid, its time for me to go,
And I know that there was something that I wanted to show you,
But its time for you to find it on your own."
"Let me tell you about rage when a signal died that day,
Theres nothing out there and I don't care; Its to take my life away
I'm not ready and I don't want to see, Nope"

Its been years since I heard my transistor radio
Yet I keep going to where it seems I'm meant to go
And I finally realized what he wanted to show me
Where I've been, where I am, its the show
Where I've been, where I am, its the show
Where I've been, where I am, its the show

And as the ending came, the people watch complacently and swore their god had meant for it to be this way
And I'm feeling strange, while the pretty people pray

Going to Canada

And all the people sing, long live the king for he is a godly thing, an eagle with just one right wing
And I'm feeling strange, while the pretty people pray (Hut hut hut hut...)

Going to Canada
Going to Canada

And as the ending came, the people watched complacently and swore their god had meant for it to be this way

Moving to Canada
I'm moving to Canada

. . .

I bought a new shirt
and I got new socks
but my skin's still made of memories

And I wanna start fresh
I wanna start new
but my skin's still made of memories
(of memories)

And I'm still alive
I'm six feet up
but one day I will be six feet under

And I wanna start fresh
I wanna start new
I wanna start over
(over)

And I wanna start fresh
I wanna start new
I wanna start over
(over)

. . .

In the middle of the car crash, you turned to me and said
'Living's so pretty, let's do it again'
For all the things I want to do
For all the things I want to do
Oh no, no, no...

In the middle of the car crash, you told me you love me
The key chain wedding ring, 'whatcha say we get married?'
There's so much more I want to do
There's so much more I want to do
Oh no...

At 70 miles per hour where we rolled out together
Let's sleep in this ditch, tonight and forever
You're everything I could want to do
There's nothing more I could want to do...
Than be with you

. . .

...when i felt the cold coming up
i went "oh my god, i'm dying"

and the next thing i know
i was out of my body
and i had no pain

i was aware that the room was light
seemed to be filling with a very white light

i noticed a tunnel opening up
a very dark tunnel
with rings in it
and a very white
tiny white second light at the very end
that we were moving down toward

the tunnel was very interesting because
it was full of rings
like a child's play tube out in the backyard

we made it through the tunnel
we got to the white light
the little hole had opened up
and we got to the white light

and my life was shown very quickly
like an old fashioned movie
that you see on those tapes
flickering at me

and everything from when i was very very young
that i thought, did, said
everything i should have done
everything i didn't do
i was so aware that the few good things i had done
they were so few

and i said "no, no"
i said, "i wanna go back
i wanna go back
i wanna go back!"

Can't Stop the Journey Now

[No lyrics]

. . .

Clip-clop, happy horse, giddy-up away from No-No-No into Yeah-Yeah-Yeah.
Slish-slosh, life boat, float me away from No-No-No into Yeah-Yeah-Yeah.
I have sailed through hurricanes with just a wooden plank and a smilie face,
And it took me somewhere that I don't know.
And I'll not be stranded here this time, cuz I've found escape is a state of mind,
And I'm going somewhere that I don't know (no,no,no).

Strum-strum, giddy guitar, you're my lifeline...my happy-happy...my Yeah-Yeah-Yeah.
Strum-strum, giddy guitar, take me somewhere that I don't know,
Strum-strum (x4), take me somewhere that I don't know,
where they sing, "Yeah, yeah, yeah."

. . .

Today is the day we take off your training wheels.
We think you can do it.
Do you think you can do it?
You can't fall down, cuz everyone is watching you.
They don't think you can do it.
It's your chance to prove it.

How are you doing? (x3)

You can't stop now, although there are walls all around.
You just gotta go through it. (x2)
And you can't fall down, cuz everyone is watching you.
They need to see you do.
You need to see you do it.

How are you doing? (x3)

. . .

We made up your mind for you last night,
so you can decide that you'll be alright.
It's no small trick to beat-beat
the pessimistic motherfucker sleeping inside your head.
Do you believe in you?
Cuz no one else can do that for you.
Are you ready yet? Are you ready yet?
you don't want to hear it.

. . .

It's the thoughts that you feed
It's the habits you need
It's the things that you don't think that you're seeing
When you're really seeing
That man jumped out the window
Come back in the window
That man jumped out the window
Come back in the window

It's your tone in my mouth
It's the things that we're too scared to talk about
It's the feeling that you're dreaming
(You're not really dreaming)
That man jumped out the window
Come back in the window
That man jumped out the window
Come back in the window

It's the feeling that you're falling
But there's a fine line between falling and flying
It's the feeling that you've lost it
What don't you get?
What don't you get?
(x2)

It's the thoughts that you feed
It's the habits you need
It's the things that you don't think that you're seeing
When you're really seeing
That man jumped out the window
Come back in the window
That man jumped out the window
Come back in the window

I got two hands on the sunshine
I got one foot in the grave
I got 25 cents in my wallet
And I'm feeling mighty lucky today
Hey, hey

My bones are made out of ivory
And my blood is made out of ocean waves
And someone stole my wallet
But I'm feeling mighty lucky today
Hey, hey

Crashed down in your old quilt and the third-grade chalk stains on your fingers
Gramma's sleeping in the other room
Christmas is only ten months away
I think it can still be just like Norman Rockwell

Bobby's got a spacesuit made out of squirrel skin
He's pushing downwards out and sucking upwards in
And this is truth to him, and this is truth to him

Gina burns her Barbie 'til it's unrecognizable rubber
Screw your d size cups 'cause I'm a way better lover
This is truth to her, this is truth to her

Turn my stupid question marks into simple candy canes
Turn my stupid question marks into simple candy canes
And this is truth to me, this is truth to me
