Japan Star Mick Karn Dies Aged 52

Japan Star Mick Karn Dies Aged 52Mick Karn, the former bassist in Japan, has died following a battle with cancer. He was 52.

Karn died on Tuesday (January 4) surrounded by family and friends at his home in London, according to a statement on his website.

The statement added that the musician would be “deeply missed by all”.

Karn, real name Adonis Michaelides, was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, and founded the band in 1974 alongside friends in Catford.

The group split in 1982 before briefly reforming in the early 90s under the name Rain Tree Crow.

The musician also embarked on a number of solo projects, as well as working as a sculptor and photographer.
