Daft Punk To Make Exclusive Appearance On DJ Hero Game

September 11, 2009
Daft Punk To Make Exclusive Appearance On DJ Hero GameDaft Punk have signed an exclusive deal which will enable video gamers to assume their identity on the forthcoming computer game DJ Hero.

Users will be able to play on a virtual replica of the stage the French dance duo performed on during their 2007 Alive tour.

The agreement has also paved the way for a series of exclusive mash-ups of Daft Punk's songs with tracks by the likes of No Doubt and Queen to appear on the game.

Tim Riley of Activision, the company behind DJ Hero, said: “They are known to be selective about the projects they get involved with and being able to partner with them in this way is a rare opportunity we are honoured to have.

“From the mixes featuring their music, to their character models and the amazing Daft Punk inspired venue, the guys have been meticulously involved every step of the way.”

Riley added that the replica of the duo's live show was “the next best thing to being at a Daft Punk concert”.

As previously reported, a special edition of DJ Hero will include previously unheard material from Eminem and Jay-Z.

The special edition will be released at the same time as the standard instalment of DJ Hero in October.
