I dont know if anyone else has heard of the band Kings of Leon, but theyre great. I started listening to them a few months ago, when I had to write a review for my college newspaper. Id never heard of them, but I got the CD from the editor, and listened to it. And I was amazed. The bands great--it combines a rhythmic rock beat with an excellent melody and provocative lyrics. They remind me a lot of a band called The Toadies, which is one that a lot of people havent heard of, but is my favorite band. The only real problem with Kings of Leon is that the singers voice is almost as annoying as Billy Corgans, but like Corgans, it just seems to fit with the music. Anyway, I found out yesterday that Kings of Leon are headlining the Reading Festival in August, along with such greats as The Pixies and the Foo Fighters. In fact, Kings of Leon are up right after the Foo Fighters, on the second day of the festival. The Pixies are, of course, opening the whole show, which is no surprise, given their popularity in Britain.
So has anyone else heard of Kings of Leon? And if you have, what do you think of them being one of the headliners of the Reading Festival? And what do you think of such greats as The Pixies headlining the show this year? Personally, I think it looks like a great show, and I wish I could get out to Reading to see it
