The drummer, aged 47, was killed by a car as he was walking on foot in California on January 13. Kirst's body was found at the side of Date Palm Road, The Desert Sun reports.

Kirtst played on Iggy Pop's 2001 album 'Beat 'Em Up' and 2003's 'Skull Ring', as well as playing with The Nymphs from 1985-1992.

Meanwhile, Iggy Pop and James Williamson released a reissue of their classic album, ‘Kill City’ in December.
